1-A-Week: Week 26: Half way point

Jul 9, 2011 by

I’ve now been getting rid of at least one thing per week for the last 6 months.  Each week I have sold or given away at least 1 thing that I do not need, want, or use anymore. Doing at least one thing per week helps me reduce the clutter in my life and make room for what is truly important.

This week I gave some old camping gear to a friend for her kids to use.  We love camping and we just got some new sleeping bags at the REI used gear sale.  We almost got to use them on our last backpacking trip, but a wolf prevented that from happening.

I have also made over $500 dollars from this stuff I don’t need or use.  So no only do I get to de-clutter my house, but I am making some cash doing so.  I have had some great luck with eBay and Craigslist and am enjoying the extra $$$.

Here’s the first 26 weeks of the 1-A-Week project:

Cleaning out my island
1-A-Week: Week 2: The old Xbox
1-A-Week: Week 3: Broken Subwoofer
1-A-Week: Week 4: old Prius Wheels
1-A-Week: Week 5: Wine Holder Giveaway
1-A-Week: Week 6: Random CD’s
1-A-Week: Week 8 – Just some old clothes
1-A-Week: Week 9 – An old clock radio
1-A-Weel: Week 10 – A crystal serving platter
1-A-Weel: Week 11 & 12 – more stuff
1-A-Week: Week 13 – digital video player

Why the internet awesome
1-A-Week: Week 19: Random crap from the garage
1-A-Week: Week 20: A Bowling Ball?
1-A-Week: Week 21: A tow hitch
1-A-Week: Week 22: A battery and a lesson in eBay
1-A-Week: Week 23: I am a tech hoarder
1-A-Week: Week 24 & 25: Cut the cord

This has been a fun project so far in that its very easy to spot something during the week that is just in the way or something that I no longer use.

Here’s to the next 26 weeks!

Ben…

1AW is a project by which I’m getting rid of at least 1 thing each week that I do not need, want, or use anymore. Doing at least one thing per week helps me reduce the clutter in my life and make room for what is truly important.

What are you getting rid of this week? Leave a comment and let me know.
