TSA #30 – Start a Project

Jun 12, 2012 by

Time for projects.  I love projects.  I love making stuff.  I love having an idea or getting inspired and creating something from it.  Now that summer is almost here and there is more daylight I feel like I have more time for projects.

My dad got a new car and decided to drive it down to visit us this past weekend so I wrangled him into helping me with a new project (as I always do). I wanted to replace our hall closet door as its very white, has a flowery glass thing in it, and is just very ugly over all.  So I had a great idea for a sliding barn door type of door to go there.  I’ve been wanting to do this for a while and finally got started on it this past weekend with my dad.

The plan was to build the door and then buy the hardware for the sliding mounting part.  Well as some Google searches revealed, the prices for that hardware started out at $350 and just went up from there.  No thanks.  So I set out to build the whole thing.

We went out, got the metal, got some wood and set out to build the door and the hardware to mount it.  We got pretty far, but have not finished it yet.  I’ll post some pictures of the final product when its done, but the point is, go out and start some projects.  Get on some fun sites like Pinterest to get some cool ideas for projects and just start.  That is your Truly Simple Action for this week.

Also share your cool project ideas in the comments below.  I love to get inspired by people making cool stuff.

TSA = Truly Simple Actions The goal of the TSA project is to improve your life and help make this world a better place, one simple action at a time.  Take time this week to do this one simple thing.
