1-A-Weel: Week 11 & 12 – more stuff

Mar 25, 2011 by

I missed posting last week as I was moving TrulySimple to another server and ran into some database and migration issues and couldn’t post, so here are my 1-A-Weeks for this week and last week.

And its just more stuff I don’t need that i’m donating to charity.  Its nothing special, but I cleaned out my hall closet and got rid of a bunch of old towels and such I don’t use or need.

The second batch of stuff came from the time I cleaned out my kitchen island. I didn’t give this extra stuff away yet, because my wife freaks out when I get rid of too much stuff so I do it in stages, which is a good trick if you find yourself having a hard time letting go of things you think you need.

Simply move the items in question into a box, bag, whatever and put them somewhere else, like the garage, for a period of time, say a month, or 6 months.  If you find yourself needing those items during that period of time then you may need/want to keep them.  Chances are you will never need them and realize that its OK to take that box or bag and get it out of your house.

So its been a while, and out it goes.

1AW is a project by which I’m getting rid of at least 1 thing each week that I do not need, want, or use anymore.  Doing at least one thing per week helps me reduce the clutter in my life and make room for what is truly important.

1-A-Week: Week 8 – Just some old clothes

Feb 25, 2011 by

Ok the 1AW tradition continues where I am getting rid of (at least) one thing per week.

some old clothes to donate

I’m doing this to help simplify my life, and reduce clutter.   Getting rid of 1 thing per week is a nice way to take bite size chunks out of the problem of having too much stuff around that you don’t need.

This week’s 1AW is just a bag of old clothes.  Very easy.  And Yes I did with the DivX Chili Cookoff, but I also have 93 DivX shirts and don’t wear them all anymore so out it goes…sniffle…tear.

I donated this bag of clothes to Amvets (a Salvation Army/Goodwill type of organization)

What could you get rid of that you don’t need or use anymore?
